Cole Wilde’s Fly is such a great looking shad fly, I really enjoyed tying it. With its floss body, tinsel ribbing, and wetfly style hackle, it really harkens back to a simpler day. This is certainly a bit more complex to tie than something like the Enfield, but, sometimes its worth it when the end product is so beautiful.
Cole Wilde’s Fly Pattern:
Hook: Stainless Steel Size 1
Thread: Red Danville’s flat waxed nylon 140
Body: Fluorescent Green floss built up to a cigar shape
Ribbing: Embossed Silver Tinsel
Hackle: White Tied in under the throat wet fly style
