This shad fly is part of The Pfeiffer Collection.
The McCredie Special Shad Fly is an interesting fly with a black bear wing. The original calls for a polar bear throat, and since polar bear is not available in the United States any longer, I opted to use kip tail. The throat is obviously shorter than what it would be with polar bear, but when I tied this fly with craft fur or buck tail for the throat, I just felt it was not as nice looking of a fly.
