This shad fly is part of The Pfeiffer Collection.
I think I prefer variation number one or two over this variation. To me, a closed wing wet fly just looks better and I could not get this fly’s wing to stay closed no matter how I tied it. I also think it looks better with the throat/ beard, but hey, maybe that’s just me. An interesting fly none the less!

Thread: Danville’s flat Nylon Florescent white
Tail: Lady Amherst Pheasant Tippet
Body: White Chenille
Ribbing: Silver Tinsel
Wing: Blue hackle between White hackle feathers
Head: White with black eyes
