You probably are not going to find an easier fly pattern for shad than the Silver Yank. Fish it with 3/8 inch glass beads on your leader in red, then yellow, then red again. A classic fly pattern for shad and a classic presentation to match. Alternatively I tie it with a gold body and orange wing.
